Central Michigan University has a new football coach after its 1-11 record 2018 season.

Jim McElwain will replace head coach John Bonamego, who was fired Nov. 23.

Bonamego led the Chippewas in a 1-11 record 2018 season.

McElwain has worked as a coach at various college football teams, including Michigan State and Michigan, according to CMU's student-run media company, Central Michigan Life.

The official announcement will come on Monday.
