Central Michigan hires new football head coach

Central Michigan University has a new football coach after its 1-11 record 2018 season.
Jim McElwain will replace head coach John Bonamego, who was fired Nov. 23.
Bonamego led the Chippewas in a 1-11 record 2018 season.
McElwain has worked as a coach at various college football teams, including Michigan State and Michigan, according to CMU's student-run media company, Central Michigan Life.
The official announcement will come on Monday.
