Multiple power outages were reported in the Lansing Board of Water and Light's coverage area early Friday afternoon.

The cause and reach of the outage are not yet known. Calls to the BWL led to a recorded message saying the BWL is experiencing problems. The BWL Web site is down as well.

Posts on the BWL Facebook page report outages in Lansing's westside neighborhood near Kalamazoo and Jenison, Washington Square downtown, Baker Street and the Colonial Village neighborhood. East Lansing police say there are outages there as well.

All intersections with the lights out should be treated as a four-way stop.

Ingham County dispatch says police are having phone problems and that people should call 911 if they can't get through on a regular line.
