LANSING, MI (WILX) - Talks to lower Michigan's auto insurance rates are still on going.
That is according to Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
Governor Whitmer was the keynote speaker at the 2019 Midwestern Infrastructure Week Summit on Tuesday.
During the event, she said auto insurance reform is still progressing well in the Michigan Legislature.
"Conversations are being had and I think there might be a path forward, but it's too early to tell," stated Whitmer.
"I said I was going to veto the bills that they passed, they're not sending them to me yet, so the fact that there is a conversation at the staff level proceeding, should give everyone the sense that there's potential," she added.
A committee in Michigan's House of Representatives is expected to meet tomorrow to continue their discussion on several key sticking points keeping both Republicans and Democrats apart on auto insurance reform.
