NBC, (WILX) - Holiday shopping season is ramping up!
This year, Americans are projected to spend more money than ever on tech-related gifts.
The Consumer Technology Association expects Americans will be buying more gadgets at checkout.
"This year we'll see record breaking sales for tech, an estimated $96.1 billion in sales," said Suzanne Kantra with Techlicious.
With retailers already starting to launch holiday promotions, it can be hard to know when you'll get the best price.
"It wont hurt you at all to start looking now. Most of the big deals will start the Saturday after Thanksgiving," said Lindsey Turrentine with CNET.
The tech at the top of holiday wish lists are TV's, laptops and smartphones.
To find the best phone deal, look beyond the manufacturer.
"Look for a phone from someone you might not expect. So instead of going straight to the manufacturer, try a carrier or secondary source," said Turrentine.
Get two for one with buy one, get one deals expected from carriers, or cash in with retailers like Target offering hefty gift card promotions with certain smartphones.
The CTA predicts consumers will buy 22 million smart speakers this quarter, 44% more than last year.
Expect to see half price deals for the Google Home Mini and Amazon Echo Dot.
