LANSING, MI (WILX) - This year marked 40 years that the young adults of Cristo Rey Church held the Way of the Cross through downtown Lansing on Good Friday.

The annual event is a dramatic recreation of Jesus' final path to his crucifixion.

Each year it begins on the steps of the Michigan State Capitol.

The fourteen Stations of the Cross are also part of this recreation with 14 stations set along the way to the Cristo Rey Community Center where a Good Friday service is held.

The recreation uses actors playing parts that include Jesus, Mary and the Roman soldiers.
