Water main work to force road closure in Lansing
The Lansing Board of Water & Light will begin water main replacement work along a stretch of East Cavanaugh Road on Wednesday.
The work will be happening on East Cavanaugh Road between South Cedar Street and Hunter Boulevard.
During construction, both the east and westbound lanes on East Cavanaugh Road will be closed to through traffic.
Access for local traffic will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.
Westbound traffic on Cavanaugh Road will be detoured south on Pennsylvania Avenue, west on Jolly Road and north on Cedar Street to Cavanaugh Road.
Eastbound traffic on Cavanaugh Road will be detoured south on South Cedar Street, east on Jolly Rd. and north on Pennsylvania Avenue to Cavanaugh Road.
Pedestrian access to local area residences and businesses adjacent to the work area will be maintained during the project.
Drivers are advised to expect delays and to seek alternate routes.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of August.
