Traffic is now moving on westbound I-96 between Fowlerville and Lansing.

At 10:30, News 10 was alerted that the I-96 WB right lane remains closed just west of mile marker 122 in Leroy Twp for several more hours, however, the left lane only of I-96 WB is now open.

A semi-truck fire had closed westbound lanes of I-96 near Williamston Thursday morning, backing up traffic for miles, and hours.

The fire happened around 7:30 a.m. near the Stockbridge Road exit.

Emergency crews have since put the fire out, but still, have to clean up the damage left behind.

The truck is reported to be out of Ontario, Canada and was carrying baked goods.

Police say that early investigations show there was a mechanical failure on the trailer with one of the tires or brakes and the fire spread from there.

No other vehicles were involved.
