ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WILX) -- Going through a medical procedure can be terrifying for anyone, especially children.

But for 8-year-old Evie Hurst, of Midland, it’s music that calms her down.

While undergoing testing at the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, Evie sang to help get her through the procedure.

Evie is terrified of doctors and is blind.

Her mom posted a video of Evie's musical therapist counting her down before Evie starts singing her favorite song "Scars To Your Beautiful" by Alessia Cara, to calm her so doctors can run tests.

Cara saw the video and has reached out to see if she can meet Evie.
