UPS holding hiring event in Lansing

If you're looking for a job, UPS is looking to hire close to 200 people in the Lansing-area ahead of the holiday season.

The company is holding a job fair Thursday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the UPS facility on 5800 Enterprise Street in Lansing.

UPS is looking to hire 50 package handlers and 150 driver helpers. Some of the positions are seasonal while there are permanent job opportunities.

Package handlers will make $10.35 an hour. Driver helpers will make $15 an hour.

According to a news release, around 35% of people UPS hired in the past three years for seasonal package handler jobs stayed with the company on a permanent basis after the holidays.
