SHELBY TOWNSHIP, MI (WILX) -- The Trump administration says it will issue a permit to a Michigan trophy hunter.
Chris Peyerk, of Shelby Township, paid $400,000 to an anti-poaching program to get permission to hunt the male rhino inside of Namibian National Park.
The permit would allow Peyerk to import the skin, skull and horns from a rare black rhinoceros he shot last year in Africa.
There's only about 5,500 black rhinos left in the wild with half of them being located in Namibia.
The country allows five male rhinos to be legally killed by hunters each year.
