LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Lansing Police are looking into why a van was on railroad tracks early Saturday morning.
Just after 6 a.m., police responded to the area of East Kalamazoo and South Hosmer streets for the report of a train-versus-van crash.
Nobody was inside the car at the time of the crash.
The freight train was going about 25 mph and did not go off the tracks.
Police tell News 10 the van is likely totaled and the train was slightly damaged.
Area roadways were shut down for nearly two hours.
It's still unknown why the van was on the tracks and an investigation is underway.
