Township hopes NASCAR race will help Go Fund Me campaign

BROOKLYN, MI (WILX) - This weekend is opening weekend at Michigan International Speedway for NASCAR fans.

During a race on June 9 at MIS, the Starcom team car will have a decal highlighting the Napoleon Township Police Department.

The main event will be held Sunday afternoon, the FireKeepers Casino 400.

Landon Cassill, the driver for the Starcom race team, will have an extra decal on the back of his car.

It is a web address advertising the Go Fund Me page for the Napoleon Township Police Department.

We first told you in April about the department's need for new equipment.

The department hopes the decal placement will help raise the money Napoleon Township needs to buy body cameras and cameras for patrol cars.
