A lockdown at East Lansing High School has been lifted, that's according to a message from Superintendent Dori Leyko of E.L. Public Schools.

Leyko said that the East Lansing Police didn't find any evidence to support a threat.

Around 10:30 a.m. on September 13, the East Lansing Police Department responded to a threatening statement found written on a wall at the high school, according to police.

The school resource officer coordinated efforts with responding police and detectives to ensure students and staff were safe.

The school was then put on external lockdown, which meant anyone coming in or going out of the building was tightly controlled.

The lockdown continued while officers investigated.

At the time they said there was "no current active threat at the school."

Officers will remain on the premises for the remainder of the day.
