CNN, (WILX) - Have you heard of the 'Bird Box' challenge?
It's a phenomenon where people are recording themselves doing things blindfolded, like in the Netflix movie 'Bird Box.'
One teen in Utah decided to do it while driving, resulting in exactly what you think would happen.
Curt Calder says he saw as a truck that drifted over from on-coming traffic, hitting him on his way home from work.
Luckily, no one was injured, but it's why the other driver, a 17-year-old girl, drifted that has Calder and police concerned.
"[She] decided to participate in what we've been educated on as the 'Bird Box' challenge. She proceeded to pull her beanie down over her eyes as she was driving down the road," said Lt. Travis Lyman with Layton Police.
The 'Bird Box' challenge originates from a Netflix movie starring Sandra Bullock where the characters blindfold themselves to avoid death.
Netflix tweeted out less than a week before the accident saying, "Can't believe I have to say this, but please don't hurt yourselves with this 'Bird Box' challenge."
Although Calder wasn't hurt, he says he hopes no one else repeats the same mistake.
"I hope that the driver can get through these consequences, there's a lesson learned. I hope others learn that lesson before they even have to go through it," said Calder.
