LANSING, Mich. (WILX)-- News 10 anchor Lora Painter talks with teachers from across Mid-Michigan open up about what's really going on inside school classrooms. In this segment, the teachers discuss social media and students' self-esteem.
Waverly High School science teacher Jeff Parks said, "I think the biggest part is just being open. and letting them talk to you when they want to talk to you, talk about what's happening out there."
Holt High School Lisa Weise said, "Trying to make sure my room is a safe space. I teach science so science is fun. We get up and do experiments and they're at lab tables for a lot of the day so that means I get the chance to talk to everybody. So I guess probably the most important thing I think teachers do is we talk to kids. It sounds really simple but we listen to them and talk to them."
