(WILX) - Grammy winner Sting took to the stage in Ontario, Canada Thursday for a special performance with a message for struggling workers.
General Motors workers were invited to the free show.
GM is laying off thousands of employees and closing five plants in North America, including the location in Oshawa.
Sting approached the workers' trade union last week about setting up a performance of "The Last Ship". Sting wrote the musical about the closure of a shipyard in a small English town.
The story parallels what many in Oshawa are experiencing with the closure of the GM plant.
