Six shot in downtown Indianapolis
Police say six people were shot in downtown Indianapolis late Saturday night.
The incident happened in multiple locations near a Steak n Shake restaurant.
Officials say all victims were taken to the hospital.
Two are reportedly in critical but stable condition.
A spokeswoman says the victims include adults and children.
Police believe the shooter fled the scene.
"I don't believe this is a mass shooting type situation. What this is is unacceptable. It's unacceptable for anywhere in downtown Indianapolis. This person just started shooting and we don't know why. We don't know if there was a disturbance right beforehand, and we are still trying to learn that," said Sgt. Genae Cook, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Police say detectives are still in the early stages of their investigation.
