EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -- Rivalry week between Michigan and Michigan State is heating up as someone vandalized an area near the Spartan Statue overnight.
MSU workers were cleaning up the blue and yellow graffiti on the sidewalk near the Spartan Statue early Tuesday morning.
On Monday, UM officials reported the "M" on the Diag had been spray-painted green with the letters "MSU."
The tagging battle is part of a tradition in the week leading up to the annual Michigan-Michigan State football game.
The Wolverines play the Spartans at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing Saturday at noon.
