MSP Sergeant injured after being hit on highway
Just after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, a Sergeant with the Michigan State Police was injured while in his patrol car on Interstate 696.
It happened near Novi.
The officer was in his patrol car in the median doing paperwork when a driver of another vehicle lost control and hit him.
Both were taken to the hospital for injuries.
The MSP Sergeant has some minor "bumps and bruises" and has since been released from Providence Park Hospital in Novi.
The injuries of the driver that him the officer are unknown at this time.
Police want to remind drivers to "slow down" and "drive at a speed where you can control your vehicle."
