UPDATE: Police need witnesses in shooting to come forward

LANSING, MI (WILX) - The Lansing Police Department is investigating a shooting that may have been self-inflicted, police say.

The shooting happened near Everett High School just before 8 p.m. on Thursday on the 4100 block of Burchfield Drive.

The 20-year-old Lansing man was at a birthday party when the shooting occurred, according to police.

The wound caused the man to be sent to the hospital.

Police say he has non-life threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Lansing Police say that many people were witnesses at the party and left after the shooting happened. They are hoping that people will come forward and tell them what happened.
