LANSING, MI (WILX) - A new report is questioning conditions at Lansing's Sparrow Hospital.
The report was released by a joint commission after Sparrow Hospital failed its initial accreditation test.
In the report, the commission lists 50 areas where "performance issues" were found at the hospital.
The joint commission says at the time of the survey Sparrow was in a condition that quote, "Poses a threat to patients or other individuals."
Sparrow responded to the report with the following statement:
"Sparrow remains fully accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC). All outstanding issues from our latest survey have been validated as resolved by TJC during their follow up on-site visits. There is one construction related project that is ongoing and TJC will clear that once the project is complete later this year. Sparrow voluntarily participates in this triennial survey process with TJC, as they represent the gold standard in patient care and safety. This process helps us to ensure that we are providing and maintaining the highest standards of care for every patient, every time. The TJC website should be updated within the next 30 days to reflect these efforts."
