(WILX) -- Canada may be our northern neighbor, but they're about to get even higher.
Marijuana for recreational use in Canada becomes legal Oct. 17 and preparations are already underway.
Some worry about the drug becoming readily available to the wrong people.
"We will soon have a new system in place, one that keeps cannabis out of the hands of our kids and keeps profits away from organized crime," said Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Roughly 100 dispensaries across the country are expected to be open on the first day of sales.
Cannabis companies in Canada will differ from those in the U.S., as they'll have access to banking and even be able to deliver marijuana to customers by mail.
