Police have released the name of the man killed in a crash on Interstate 69 Tuesday morning.

James Ware, of Morrice, died when his pick-up truck crossed the median and hit a semi head-on.

It happened just after 4:30 a.m. near Bath Road.

The Shiawassee County Sheriff's Office says Ware was thrown from his truck and landed on the pavement. He was then hit by a black sedan that left the scene.

There's no word yet on why he lost control of his pickup.
