Olympic speed skater becomes fastest man on ice

LULEA, Sweden. (WILX) - Kjeld Nuis, an Olympic speed skater has become the fastest man on ice.

He skated on a 2,000 meter course on Sweden's northern coast near the Arctic Circle.

He says when hit 55 miles per hour he started to lose control of his skates.

The world record on the Olympic Oval is about 33 miles per hour.

Nuis won gold medals at two events at the most recent Olympic winter games in South Korea.
