Officials keeping an eye on water levels in Portland

PORTLAND, Mich. (WILX) -- The city of Portland is keeping a close eye on water levels.

The Bridge Street bridge was closed for much of the day on Monday because it was just too dangerous to cross.

But officials say their other concern right now is getting people to stay off the ice, as they've caught people trying to go out on the river.

City officials also warning on Monday night to be ready to evacuate in case water levels get too high.
