MIAMI, Flor. (WILX) - The recent death of actor Luke Perry, who died at the age of 52 after suffering a stroke, is shedding new light on the health concern.

According to a new study with the University of Miami, there may be a link between depression and someone's risk of having a stroke.

Researchers tracked over 1,000 older adults for 14 years.

They found that those with symptoms of depression were 75% more likely to have a stroke regardless of any other risk factors.
