Multiple injuries after tornado rips through east Texas
Multiple people were injured in a small east Texas city after it took a direct hit from a tornado Saturday morning, News 10 sister station
Photos show widespread damage in Franklin, Texas, a city of about 1,600 residents between Waco and College Station.
The Robertson County Sheriff's Office told KWTX there were "quite a bit of injuries, but no fatalities."
The severe storm system that blew threw east Texas Saturday morning and early afternoon knocked out power to thousands in at least six counties.
The Assoicated Press reports that about a dozen people across the state were injured by the storm system. The Robertson County Sheriff told the AP that two Franklin residents were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He says about a dozen others were treated at the scene for minor injuries, including some who had to be extricated from their destroyed homes.
