LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -- The Lansing Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a fire at a home in the 800 block of West Holmes Road before 1:30 a.m. on Friday.

When the crews arrived they saw heavy flames on the main floor of the two-story home.

They said that the house appeared to be vacant, but looked as if someone may have been recently there.

They have not been able to track down anyone associated with the home.

Lansing Fire Department said that it took a couple of hours to completely put out the fire.

The main floor was destroyed.

They do not have a cause or origin at this time, and with the severe damage to the first floor, they may not be able to get one.

Several firefighters from different fire departments responded to help put the flames out.

The fire is under investigation.
