Michigan lawmakers replenish fund for the wrongfully convicted

State legislators have voted to spend an additional 10-million dollars to compensate people who were wrongfully convicted of crimes.

It replenishes a fund that is nearly empty.

The money will help the State of Michigan pay off outstanding claims that total between 21 to 24 million dollars.

The bill now goes to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's desk.

She's expected to sign it.
