Michigan comes in at No. 14 for 'sexiest accent,' report shows
Who says Michigan doesn't have an accent?
A new study shows the mitten comes in at number 14 on a new list of state's with the "sexiest accents." But, this honor doesn't go to the entire state, instead to those living in the Upper Peninsula.
"‘Yoopernese’ is the dialect you’ll hear in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan," the study said. "The accent is heavily influenced by the area’s Scandinavian immigrants, so they say ‘yah’ instead of yeah, “d” for “th” (“dere” for there, “dat” for “that”) and ‘eh’ at the end of most sentences."
Michigan's unique accent beat out New Orleans, Kentucky, even those who call Charleston, South Carolina home.
The survey looked at results from more than 1.5 million social followers of Big7 Travel.
