Michigan State basketball honors Purdue superfan laid to rest

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -- On the day that cancer activist and Purdue superfan Tyler Trent was laid to rest, Michigan State Spartans basketball honored his memory before taking on Purdue.

The players, coaches and the student section took part in creating and signing a #TylerStrong banner that the students waved before the game.

Trent raised over $100,000 for cancer research before his death on New Year's Day at 20 years old.
