Jorge Garcia was deported back to Mexico after living in the United States for almost 30 years.

He came to the U.S. illegally with his parents when he was just ten years old.

Garcia's wife Cindy is trying to bring him back to the U.S. They also have two children.

Garcia's wife and two children are U.S. citizens.

Cindy Garcia says her husband has been in contact with immigration agents for the past 13 years and has been trying to find a path to citizenship.

In November 2017, Garcia learned he was scheduled to be deported.

Cindy Garcia says their family got some bad legal help but they were able to get his deportation date delayed until this past Monday.

She says her husband's deportation didn't feel real until they were at the airport saying goodbye.

"That's when the tears just started flowing, because we knew that was going to be it. There wasn't much that we could do", said Cindy Garcia.

Cindy Garcia says her husband has no criminal history or even traffic tickets.

He's currently in Mexico City.
