Michigan Arbor Day Alliance awards six tree planting grants

LANSING, MI (WILX) -- Some new trees are about to be planted.

The Michigan Arbor Day Alliance (MADA) awarded six tree planting grants.

The grants were made possible by Consumers Energy, ITC and Lansing Board of Water and Light.

The grants are available to local units of government, public educational institutions, public libraries, non-profit organizations and more.

This year, The City of Beverly Hills, Kalkaska Conservation District, Hope College, Court Street Village (Flint, MI), Charter Township of Calumet and the Village of Middleville will all be getting new trees planted into their communities.

A total of 73 trees will be planted across these communities by the end of the year.
