Member of Sheriff's mounted unit dies unexpectedly

The Ingham Co. Sheriff's Office is honoring the loss of a fallen team member this week.

Luciano, a 25-year-old Dutch Warmblood horse died on Wednesday morning.

Luciano was part of the Ingham County Sheriff's Office Mounted Unit for the last 5 years.

They are reported that the beloved team member died from a medical emergency.

Condolences can be sent to the Mounted Unit and Luciano's owner since the horse was 4 years old, Special Deputy Rob Vanwessum.
