Meet Ruby Red Kolsch! New beer coming to Michigan

Just in time for summer, a popular beer made in western New York is making its way to Michigan for the first time.

The limited edition German-style brew was previously only available on the east coast. Besides Michigan, it will also be available in Ohio, Connecticut, and New Jersey this year.

"Ruby Red Kolsch has quickly become a fan favorite for beer drinkers. With many existing Genesee fans in Michigan, we knew this would be the perfect market to introduce Ruby Red Kolsch to, just in time for summer," said Janine Schoos, brand director for Genesee Brewing Company.

The beer is a "bright-golden ale boasting tart grapefruit flavors," the company said.

"Michiganders know good beer, and as one of our neighbor states, many of those beer drinkers know Genny! We’re excited to introduce this crisp, golden-ale to our fans so they can find out for themselves what all the hype is about. It’s a high-quality, refreshing beer that’s not only perfect for summer but also affordable," said Schoos.
