Mason boy cheats death in miraculous recovery
Whether he's in the house playing video games, or outside kicking a soccer ball with his brothers and sisters, Brenden Scott is your typical 10 year old, but on December 9th 2018, his life nearly ended on a rural road south of Mason, when Brenden was crossing it to go to a friend's house.
Brenden was hit by a mini-van, his lifeless body lying in the middle of the road.
Brenden was rushed to Sparrow Hospital with an incredible list of injuries... a fractured skull, and a brain bleed, top and bottom jaws shattered, two collapsed lungs, holes in both his heart and kidney, two broken legs, and a massive tear in his liver.
Brenden was in the operating room for ten hours, and his parents were told he might not make it thru the night.
It was in the tenth hour surgeons were finally able to stop the bleeding.
Brenden spent nearly a month in Sparrow's pediatric ICU, and is very aware of what the Sparrow team of health professionals did for him, saying quote: "they pretty much fixed up my whole body."
Brenden still has weekly visits to physical therapy, but for the most part has nearly totally recovered from the near life ending incident.
