Man accused of shooting man with rifle charged

WATERLOO TOWNSHIP, MI (WILX) -- A 25-year-old man was shot in the stomach early Tuesday morning, June 11.

The suspect in the shooting, Jacob Joseph Fuller, 28 or Jackson, is in Jackson County Jail.

He has been charged with:
- Assault with intent to murder
- Felony Firearms
- Breaking and entering (home invasion first degree)

Michigan State Police say the shooting happened at about 4:30 a.m. at a home on the 5000 block of Welch Lake Road in Jackson County's Waterloo Township.

The victim, 25, was taken to Henry Ford Allegiance Health Hospital with life-threatening injuries and is listed in critical condition.

Officers say that the two men knew each other, but they aren't sure the connection.

Officers from Blackman-Leoni Township Public Safety and the Jackson County Sheriff's Department located the suspect's vehicle in the 3000 block of Seymour Road about 5 AM.

The Michigan State Police Emergency Support Team took Fuller into custody without incident.

They located a rifle, that was used in the shooting, with the suspect.
