Man still recovering after fireworks tossed outside East Lansing bar

EAST LANSING, MI (WILX) -- Saturday we spoke to the victim who was injured in a fireworks incident, we told you about earlier this week.

Man injured from a fireworks outside of a popular bar in downtown East Lansing speaks out.

The East Lansing Police Department said a person is suspected of throwing a firework outside of a popular bar Injuring 22-year-old Devon Tremble.

"I just remember coming to, staring at the road after like this big white flash and this girl like putting her hands on my shoulder like, hey I'm going to set you down okay," said Tremble.

Now he is dealing with injuries that have him on crutches.

"I've got first and second degree burns on my leg, according to the burn ward at U of M. I've got some holes on the side of my foot ."
"I've got two large wounds in the back of my thighs," Tremble added.

"And I do have some marks on my left leg from where it also went and two large scrapes or scratches like on my back."

The East Lansing Police say that the person suspected of throwing the firework was denied entry to the bar earlier, came back and threw a large lit firework into a crowd in front of the bar.

News 10 went to Harper's to speak to the manager they did not want to speak on camera. The bar said this incident didn't happen on their property. They say in front on the sidewalk. But Tremble says Harper's has been helpful to him.

"Harper's have been extremely helpful throughout all of this the owners and service manager they've been putting forward written statements from the door guys that night they've been forwarding their security tapes."

Tremble hopes anyone else who was there that night or has any information will reach out to the East Lansing Police Department.

We have reached out to the East Lansing Police Department but still haven't heard any updates.

Tremble's parents are living out of state and started a GofundMe to pay for his medical expenses.

Tremble says he expects to make a full recovery, but he will have some battle scars.
