UPDATE: Man sentenced for armed robbery

A man has been sentenced for the robbery of a convenience store that took place in November of last year.
Jackson County Prosecutor Jerry Jarzynka said James Jerard Patton plead guilty to armed robbery and intimidating a witness.
The armed robbery took place on Nov. 11, 2018, at a Shell Gas Station on 5th Street in Leoni Township, known as Johnny's.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect used a pneumatic gun during the robbery and stole over $400.
Patton has been sentenced to 12-30 years in the Department of Corrections for armed robbery and 10-15 years for intimidating a witness.
“We are pleased with Judge Wilson’s sentence,” said Prosecutor Jerry Jarzynka.
