Man charged with attempted stabbing in Lansing
A man was hospitalized Thursday night in a stabbing in Lansing.
The suspect in the incident, Leland Clair Segar, 40, was charged with one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon.
Bond is set at $20,000.
Segar is scheduled for probable cause hearing at 54-A District Court in front of Judge Simmons on Oct. 25 at 8:30 a.m.
Officers with the Lansing Police Department responded to a reported stabbing in the 5600 block of South Martin Luther King Junior Blvd. around 11:14 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10.
The incident stemmed from a verbal argument between two men that turned physical.
Segar attempted to cut and stab the victim, a 43 year old man.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Lansing police said.
Segar was taken into custody at the scene.
