The man, who has not been identified, is 62 years old and from Lansing. He was arrested late Friday "without incident" in Lansing's North end, according to police.
Police say he and the victim, Reginald Craig, 43, got into an argument that turned physical and ultimately led to the shooting outside an apartment near East Cesar Chavez Avenue and Center Street.
Craig was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect is expected to be in court on Monday.
"The police department and investigation team would like to thank the community for actively being a part of this investigation," police said in a news release. "Without the numerous tips and information, the identification and arrest would not have happened in such a timely manner."
Police said more details, including charges, are expected later Monday.
