Homecoming season is here and MSU will celebrate this weekend.

There was a parade scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday that was canceled just after 2 p.m. on Friday.

MSU has said that the parade will not be rescheduled.

The Grand Marshal of the parade was supposed to be Susan Packard, who is the former HGTV chief operating officer, also an author and MSU alumna.

"Packard’s triumphs in media, written works and continued mentorship truly exemplifies what it means to inspire success," according to a release from MSU.

The theme for this year's homecoming is "Spartans Inspire Success."
