MRA recalls four medical marijuana products across Michigan

LANSING, MI (WILX) -- The Marijuana Regulatory Agency (MRA) has issued a health and safety bulletin recalling four medical marijuana products.

The recall comes as a result of an ongoing investigation into the testing and reporting practices of Iron Laboratories.

The following products have been recalled:b>
• RSO 1G. SYRINGE-MONSTER X-, failed testing on 5/2/19 for Chemical Residue – Bifenazate
• Glue-Buds, failed testing on 6/14/19 for Heavy Metal - Cadmium
• 1g Savage Signature OG Budder, concentrate, failed testing on 7/17/19 for Heavy Metal- Arsenic
• 1g - Platinum Vapes - Diamond OG Cartridge, failed testing on 6/25/19 for Heavy Metal - Total Chromium

The products were sold in the following cities:
• Battle Creek
• Bay City
• Burton
• Chesaning
• Detroit
• Ferndale
• Flint
• Inkster
• Jackson
• Kalamazoo
• River Rouge
• Rogers City
• Vassar
• Wayne
• Ypsilanti

MRA said possible medical issues or symptoms could include coughing, wheezing, decreased pulmonary function, nausea, vomiting, abnormal hearth rhythm, and damage to blood vessels.

"We take the testing of medical marijuana product very seriously,” said MRA Executive Director Andrew Brisbo. “Our first focus is on making sure that the marijuana product in the regulated industry meets established safety standards.”

MRA says patients or caregivers who have affected medical marijuana should have these affected medical marijuana products in their possession should destroy them or return them to the provisioning center where they were purchased from.
