Local shelter gets hot water for the holidays

By  |

Christmas comes early for a Mid-Michigan shelter that helps victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Consumers Energy has installed a brand new energy efficient hot water heater at the "Aware" shelter in Jackson, free of charge.
"Aware" houses hundreds of victims and their families every year.
The shelter says the new water heater will go a long ways in helping them cut down on their energy bills.
Today's donation is part of Consumers' non profit energy efficiency program, which helps charities across Mid-Michigan cut down on their energy costs.
