LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Many school districts across Mid-Michigan held school board elections on Tuesday. Below are some of the more notable results.
Lansing school board: The largest school board race in Mid-Michigan was not a nail-biter, as only three candidates raced for three spots. Farhan Bhatti, Nathan Burroughs and Rachel Lewis each grabbed a seat in a race that saw well over 50,000 votes.
East Lansing school board: In a seven-candidate race, four candidates came out victorious. They are Terah Chambers, Chris Martin, Kate Powers and Noel Garcia.
Williamston recalls: In a heated recall effort to oust four members of the Williamston school board, only one was successful. Greg Talberg narrowly lost his seat with 49 percent of the vote. Karen Potter will take his place. The other three board members up for recall, Sarah Belanger, Nancy Deal and Christopher Lewis, survived with at least 57 percent of the vote in each of their respective races.
