Local Students Learn Postive Attitude

JACKSON, Mich. (WILX)-- News 10 morning anchor Lora Painter headed to Jackson where she found out how students are learning the power of having a positive attitude.

Growing up is not always easy for middle school age kids and having the courage to fail is tough. That's why educators like Geoff Bontrager, superintendent of Northwest Community Schools, said, "It's very important that kids have this self-confidence in order to explore and try new things. If they do not have that, then doors close."

Over 850 youth from Northwest Kidder Middle School in Jackson, Michigan attended the interactive "My Positive Attitude" assembly this year. It was offered by both the Ralph Nichols Group, Inc. (RNG), which facilitates Dale Carnegie training in Southwest Michigan, and Engaged Outreach, an educational nonprofit organization in Michigan, as part of the partnership's annual Global Day of Giving program.
