Lipari Foods recall sandwiches throughout the Midwest

Warren, MI (WILX) -- Lipari Foods based out of Warren have issued a recall of Premo Ham and Cheese Wedge sandwiches and Fresh Grab Ham and Cheese sandwiches.

The sandwiches are being recalled due to potential contamination of Listeria monocytogenes.

The recall is sweeping through states across the Midwest.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious or fatal infections in children, elderly people. or anyone with a compromised immune system.

Most people just feel the common effects of food poisoning, but serious symptoms could cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
