Lansing police investigating early morning homicide

LANSING, Mich. (WILX)- Lansing police are investigating an early morning homicide at a home near the downtown area.

Just before 7 a.m., a security alarm went off, and police were dispatched to a home in the 1100 block of East Kalamazoo Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered the door was open and they spotted a deceased male.

Police are not saying how the 27-year old man died. They say he is a Lansing resident. Police are working to notify next of kin.

Lansing police say they believe this was not a random act and that there is concern to the public at this time.

The investigation is in the preliminary stage. Police tell WILX, they are talking to witnesses.
