Police cars invaded a Lansing apartment complex early Sunday morning after police say a woman called 911 to report her ex-boyfriend was trying to break into her apartment.

It happened at the College Towne Apartments, located near the intersection of Jolly and Dunckel roads, in south Lansing.

Lansing Police Chief Daryl Green said the woman, who has only been identified as 20 years old, hid in her closet while her ex-boyfriend reportedly tried to get in.

She told police she believed he might have been armed.

Police were on scene for several hours, but Green said officers believe he might have taken off before police even got there.

The woman was not hurt in the incident, police said.

While officers did not find him, they did talk to him on the phone. However, as of Sunday morning, his whereabouts are not known.

Green said Lansing police have told other area law enforcement to be on the lookout for the suspect, who is wanted for questioning.

Police said there could be a warrant filed for the man, who is also in his 20s, at some point.
