Lansing police debut new app

LANSING, MI. (WILX) -- Lansing Police Department introduced its new smartphone application on Tuesday.

Anyone who downloads the app will be able notified with an emergency, crime, missing person, most wanted, weather and traffic alerts.

Anyone who uses the app can submit anonymous tips and receive a response back from the 24 hours a day command officers.

“Lansing’s time is now and I’m proud that LPD will be the first police agency in the State of Michigan to work with MobilePD to offer a smart phone app, Lansing PD, that is a one-stop-shop for non-emergency police services. Lansing PD will transform the way residents interact with LPD on daily basis,” said Mayor Schor.

The Chief of Police Daryl Green said, "One of the things I've always said that as a 21st-century police agency we have to embrace 21st-century technologies that increase accessibility, increase our ability to engage with community members, so that's what this does."

The app is free to download and available for both iOS and Android systems.

Go into your phone's app store and search Lansing PD (Michigan) and click download.

“The NEW App has simply increased the department’s community eyes and ears tenfold,” said Chief Green.

The Lansing PD (Michigan) app features include:
 Alerts
 Submit a Tip
 Tip Chat
 Staff Directory
